Why wasn't my incoming call logged?

Short answer

Because neither iPhone nor Android lets an app put itself on screen during a normal phone call, and neither tells an app who is calling you. Nexicall can offer to log an incoming call only if it was already open when the call ended. Calls you place from inside Nexicall are always offered for logging, with the duration already filled in.

What the phone allows, and what it does not

Two operating-system limits shape this, and they apply to every app that is not itself a calling app. An app cannot bring itself to the front while a normal phone call is in progress. Only apps that place the call over the internet themselves are allowed to take over the screen, and Nexicall dials through your phone's own dialler on purpose — so your number, your minutes and your call quality stay exactly as they are. An app also cannot read the number of the person calling you. On iPhone, the system tells an app that a call started and ended and nothing about who it was with. Android has worked the same way since Android 12. So even when we can tell that a call happened, we cannot attach it to the right contact without guessing — and a CRM that guesses is worse than one that asks.

What this means in practice

Outgoing calls placed from Nexicall are reliable. You tap to call, the phone dials, and when you hang up the log opens with the real duration already in it. Incoming calls depend on where you were. If Nexicall was open when the call ended, it can offer to log it. If your phone was locked or you were in another app, it cannot, and nothing will appear afterwards. If you take a lot of inbound calls, the habit that works is to open that contact in Nexicall while you talk. You then get the same post-call flow you would get from an outgoing call.

Can this be fixed in a future version?
Not by us. This is not a missing feature, it is what iOS and Android permit. Reading your call log on Android needs a permission Google restricts to apps whose main purpose is calling or messaging, and iOS has no equivalent at all. Any app promising fully automatic capture of inbound cellular calls is either a dialler or is overstating it.
Does Nexicall record my calls?
No. Nexicall never records the call itself. It captures who you called, when, and how long it lasted. Microphone access is used only when you choose to dictate a note — that recording is your own summary, not the conversation.
Can I still capture a call I took away from the app?
Yes — open the contact and record what was discussed as a note, so the conversation itself is not lost even when the call was not captured automatically. Duration on a logged call is editable everywhere it appears, so a figure you correct by hand stays corrected.
