CentralStationCRM alternative

We both kept it simple. We kept it simple around the phone.

CentralStationCRM and Nexicall want the same thing: a CRM a small team will actually use, rather than one that needs a project to introduce. Where we disagree is about where the work happens. Theirs is a web app you keep open on a desk. Ours is an app in the hand of somebody who is on the phone.

What CentralStationCRM is, fairly

CentralStationCRM is a well-made German CRM for small companies, with German-language support and a refreshing refusal to bloat. Contacts, companies, notes, offers and projects, custom fields, a proper API, and integrations including Microsoft 365 and sipgate; through sipgate you can call from the CRM and have conversations summarised by AI. If you have been burned by an enterprise CRM and want something calm that a five-person team can run without training, they are a genuinely good answer, and they were that long before we existed.

Partly means it exists with a limit worth knowing. Our offline mode is read-only and only in the phone apps, and an incoming call is only offered for logging if Nexicall was in the foreground when it ended.

Where Nexicall is the better choice

  • Selling happens on the phone, not at a desk: the app is built around dialling, logging and following up
  • The call is captured with its real duration by the app itself, with no phone system to buy and connect first
  • Dictate the note; the AI writes it up, files it and proposes the follow-up
  • Two-way address-book sync on both iPhone and Android, with several numbers per contact

Where CentralStationCRM is the better choice

  • You want a German provider with German-language support, and data residency in Germany matters to you — Nexicall is hosted in the United States under standard contractual clauses
  • Your business runs on offers and projects rather than phone calls. That is the shape of their product and it is not the shape of ours
  • You want custom fields on your records. They have them and we do not

Which one you should actually pick

Pick CentralStationCRM if your team's work is quotes, projects and long relationships tended from a desk, and you want a calm German tool that is not trying to become a platform. Pick Nexicall if your team's work is the phone — if the thing that goes missing is not the offer but the conversation that led to it. Neither of us is trying to sell you a system of record for a hundred people. The only question is whether your day happens at a keyboard or on a handset.

Common questions

Where is my data hosted?
In the United States, under standard contractual clauses. We would rather say that plainly than bury it. If you need your data to stay in Germany or the EU, that is a real reason to choose differently.
Can I move my CentralStationCRM data across?
Contacts and deals, yes — export them to a file and the web app's import wizard maps your columns and stages, so an existing pipeline arrives rather than being retyped. Notes, offers, projects and history do not come across.
Does CentralStationCRM not sync contacts to my phone already?
On Android, yes — it copies recently updated CRM contacts into the phone's address book. It runs in one direction only, so a number you save on the handset does not travel back, and their documentation says the same is not possible on iPhone at all. Nexicall syncs both ways on both platforms, including several numbers for the same person.
