Importing contacts doesn't work

Short answer

On a phone, importing needs two answers: you agree that the contacts you pick are uploaded to your Nexicall account, and you allow the app to read the address book. If either was declined, the import screen shows a button to fix it. A stopped import can be retried without creating duplicates.

If you declined a question

  1. Open Import contacts again. If you declined the upload question, tap "Review and agree".
  2. If you declined the address-book permission, tap "Open Settings", allow Contacts for Nexicall, and come back.
  3. On iPhone you can also allow only selected contacts; Nexicall then lists just those.

The import stopped halfway

Nexicall writes contacts in batches. If the connection drops, everything written so far is kept and the screen offers to retry the rest. Retrying never creates duplicates: people already in Nexicall are recognised by phone number and marked "Already added".

Importing on the website

In a browser, import a .vcf or .csv file exported from your phone or mail program. Rows without a name or a usable phone number are listed as skipped, with the reason. Offline, nothing is written — the file stays selected so you can import once you are connected.

Contact limit

During the trial and with a subscription there is no limit. Without either, an account holds up to 10 contacts; import more after subscribing.

Does Nexicall upload my whole address book?
No. Only the contacts you tick are uploaded: name, phone numbers, email, company and birthday.
A contact I deleted came back after an import. Why?
An archived contact with the same phone number is restored instead of duplicated, so its earlier calls and notes reappear with it.
